Today, the Kabaka Foundation hosted the Mott Foundation vice President Mr.Neal Hegarty at Buganda Kingdom headqusters in Bulange Mengo, which is also the foundation’s head office. He was welcomed by the speaker of the Great buganda lukiiko.
The Vice President was accompanied by Heifer International’s Country Director and staff. This strategic meeting aimed to strengthen ties between Heifer, The Mott Foundation and the Kabaka Foundation.

The visit ended in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Kabaka Foundation and Heifer International Uganda; witnessed by the Mott Foundation vice-president and senior leaders in the buganda kingdom. This mou enables collaborative efforts on the Distributable Renewable Energy Ecosystems Model (DREEM) hub projects, promoting solar energy adoption in local communities; with the the Mott Foundation as the funder.

The Kabaka Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude to Heifer and The Mott Foundation for their collaboration and support.

The Attorney General of Buganda Kingdom who is also a Kabaka Foundation Board Member emphasized integrating DREEM hub projects into all Kabaka Foundation activities to ensure sustainability. The speaker of the great Buganda lukiiko thanked the organizations, highlighting potential partnership opportunities within Buganda.
The MOU was signed by the Executive Director Kabaka Foundation; Omuk. Kaggwa Eddie Ndagala and the Heifer International Uganda County Director Mr. William Matovu.

This partnership paves the way for a brighter, more sustainable future for Buganda and Uganda at large.

In a gesture of appreciation and solidarity, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga today paid courtesy visits to the offices of Kabaka Foundation, Nkuluze, and Nabagereka Development Foundation, all located within the Bulange complex. He engaged in warm and inspiring interactions with the staff at each institution, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.

Later, the Katikkiro convened a joint meeting with the staff from all three institutions, where he delivered a motivational speech. He emphasized the importance of integrity, transparency, team spirit and creativity as essential pillars for achieving excellence in their work, particularly in serving the Kabaka. Owek. Mayiga expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their tireless efforts in service to the King, praising their commitment and passion.

This visit highlights the Katikkiro’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and teamwork among the institutions that support the Kabaka’s initiatives.

On Monday, July 22, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II returned to Uganda after being unable to extend his visa in Namibia, where he had been receiving treatment at the Okonguari Psychotherapeutic Centre. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by his wife, Nnaabagereka Sylvia Nagginda,

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, and other family members, including Princess Royal Agnes Nabaloga, Prince Crispin Jjunju Kiweewa, and Princess Victoria Nkinzi. In a statement read by Prince Crispin Jjunju Kiweewa, the Kabaka’s children expressed their gratitude to God for their father’s recovery and thanked the medical team and staff who had cared for him in Germany, Switzerland, and Namibia.

They also extended their appreciation to the government and people of Namibia for their hospitality during the King’s three-month stay. The royal family condemned speculation about the Kabaka’s health as a violation of human tradition and apologized to the Namibian government for violence committed by a few individuals. They also thanked the Ugandan government, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for its cooperation with the Namibian government during the King’s visit.

Although the Kabaka has returned home, he remains under medical care and requires continued treatment and rest to achieve full recovery. The royal family requests that the people of Buganda exercise patience and respect the King’s human rights during this time.
